Vegan & Gluten-Free Sunday Roast Dinner

Vegan and Gluten-Free Sunday Roast Dinners at The Secret Garden Café.

Not only has it been 8 months since we launched The Secret Garden Café but we have also survived our first summer in Hope Square, and have loved every minute of it!

Now that the summer is long gone, the cold of winter has started to arrive and so we’ve created our very own Vegan and Gluten-Free Roast Dinner, which we proudly launched on Sunday 3rd November.

So how have we made our roast dinner Vegan?
What have we replaced the meat with?

We had a choice of two options:

  1. Use a fake meat substitute and try to replicate a traditional British roast dinner.
  2. Try something a little different and more our style.

With the help and ideas of our head chef Faber, we decided to go for option two and have gone for something a little different.

A roasted vegetable plait, vegan cauliflower cheese, garlic and rosemary roasties and boiled chantenay carrots with vegan butter and thyme plus vegan yorkies, slow-cooked red cabbage with apples and caramelised red onions and gravy. To top it all off, we made sure that it is all 100% Gluten-Free, so no one has to miss out.

We offer two seatings on Sundays, 12pm or 2pm.
Due to our small capacity and the popularity of our Vegan Roasts, we recommend that you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

As of today (our third Sunday of Vegan Roasts), we’re almost completely booked which can only be a good sign.

Are you ready to make a reservation?

  1. Hi! This sounds wonderful, but can you tell me, what vegetables are used in the vegetable plait, please? I have an allergy to peppers/chillies, spices and mushrooms 🙁 Many thanks

    • Oh wow… that doesn’t sound good.
Unfortunately there is mushrooms and peppers in the plait.
We will vary it from time to time so please keep and eye on our Facebook page for updates.
